I think it would be cool if we could find a day sometime this summer where the entier garrison, more specifically those who wish to build, upgrade, or otherwise fine tune their armor can get together, bring their rivet guns, snaps, velcro straps, glue guns, etc and work together to put our final versions together. Perhaps in two or three separate days to coincide with garrison events. I think the upcoming Preston Days parade would be ideal since it falls almost in the center of our entire geographical region. Any other ideas or suggestions would be welcome. I for one really need to get away from being a full velcro trooper. Shane, I don't want to volunteer your house, but I would like to take you up on your offer to help me and others accomplish this. If Julie is okay with this could we do this in your backyard, maybe?

I could easily volunteer my home, but some from Idaho who live too far north or some Utahns who live too far south may not be able to make it. I'm also welcome to suggestions and a sign up list of those who wish to participate. I would love it if Shane, Doug, Tom, Dave, or any others experienced with snaps and rivets could participate to help us out. We could make it a pizza party or something. For now, post if you're interested.

Dude, I am SO there (given the distance is do-able for me). I've helped Tom and Ken (comettkid) mod their armor to make it easier to wear and would be glad to help!

I'm not a Garrison member yet but I'd like to come. Does the invite extend to Biker Scouts or just stormtroopers? I need some help with my costume and I am really interested in meeting new people.

Everyone is welcome to bring any costume they like. The focus will be for stormtroopers as there is great need for it. By all means please attend! Shall I add your name to the list?

By the way, I'm changing the title from pow-wow to workshop. Sounds much better.

Yeah that'd be great. Add me to the list for now. Once the Date is finalized then I can see about my school and work schedules but I'm pretty sure it won't be a problem. I have to come to keep you TKs in check and make sure you don't form your own little group and take over. :D

Becca this will be sometime this summer when we can all coordinate. For now, I'm gauging everyone's interest and then those who sign up can decide where and when would be best.

Edit: In another thread in this forum, Jason announced that there were 200 forum members now and Shane has invited all 200 members to his place for the Preston, Idaho parade sometime in July. I think this would be the ideal time and place to have our workshop. I'll contact Shane and make sure it's okay with him and his better half, Julie.

I should be able to help with the work shop. One thing we need to look at making sure we have there is a sewing machine, because a good thing to have for snap or even velcro TK's is a garter belt for the thigh armor (or any other nylon webbing utilizations). Just a thought...
