So got a biker scout costume from a legion member selling it on the legion boards, and I just got it mailed to me today. I need to adjust it to fit me though. The boots he was selling with it were a size 12 and I wear a 9.5 so I told him I wouldn't be needing his boots.

Here is the deal: the guy I bought it from was 6'1" and over 200 lbs, while I am 5'9" and 188 lbs.... so needless to say, I am swimming in extra fabric upon my initial test fitting.

So here is a pic of me in it, straight out of the box, no adjustments yet....
Image

Things that I can see that need adjusting:
1. Need to make boots and get a holster
2. Get smaller size jumpsuit. This one is size XL and I could probably wear a Large or a Medium.
3. Need to pull the cummerbund tighter around the sides, also shorten it in the crotch area.
4. Perhaps get the belt tighter around my waist, it's pretty loose so far.
5. Maybe pull the chest and back pieces closer together (big gap in side view).

Anything else I'm missing?

The only other thing you need is a speeder bike, Looks really good even though a bit big. You still want my extra vinyl for the boots?

Cool! So I can see you couldn't resist getting more armor :) Now you have to pick what you will wear to events....well once you get adjustments made.

Yes please! Also, what type of boots did you buy, and where did you get them from?

Hmm... I happen to be in the market for a jumpsuit. XL might work for me. :D

The tag says: "XL-Reg 46/48" It has tiny patches of black velcro sewn into it at the shoulders and knees.

Psst.... Elbows are also upside down. :D

Other than the things mentioned above, the suit looks good. Not a whole lot that needs to be done with the armour itself, just soft work. If you need a hand with any of that give a shout and I might be able to help. I too have extra vinyl for the boots if what he has isn't enough. Wow... my Scout army grows daily! Congrats on the new suit!

I just used a n old pair of work boots that I already had. They were just steel toed Dickie brand boots, but they don't have to be anything special. Look at the pictures of the ones on that tutorial I sent

Might be a bit baggy on me. My biggest problem is if the inseam will fit.

Anyone know of a local shop where that sells short sleeve coveralls that I could try on? I'd like to replace the ones that came with the costume, but really would prefer to try them on vs. ordering online.

Try the army surplus store at the top of the Orem-Provo hill. You could also try any Cal-Ranch or IFA store.

I'm done! Finally finished making the boots and attaching the holster! I also adjusted the height of the cummerbund so it isn't riding as low and the front pockets are right up against the chest armor. Took some really quick photos with my computer, I'll take better pics for 501st submission.

What do you guys think about a pauldron? I've seen pics of guys wearing them even though there is no reference of them wearing one in movies etc. I think it looks very cool, and I just happen to have a black and white pauldron anyways. I'm guessing some people won't mind it, and others will hate it! 8)
