I'm working on making a variation on my TK costume, being able to be a Heavy Weapons Trooper, a EU character from the Battlefront game.
This character is very similar to a Sandtrooper, except that there is no dirt and it is TK armor not TD, meaning there is stormtrooper ab plate, knee plate and helmet, but no drop boxes worn.

Here are the requirements: http://www.whitearmor.net/home/crl-overview/crl-hwt.html

Here is what is needed:
-Shoulder Pauldron: HAVE
-Heavy Weapon: HAVE, Lewis Gun
-TD backpack: NEED
-3 slot ammo pouch for Shoulder: NEED
-3 slot ammo pouch for right hip: NEED
*Additonal: I have a 2 slot ammo pouch for left hip

Can't wait to see it finished

I am so all over the place that I sometimes confuse myself, let alone everyone else.

Trying to do the right thing, always.

From what I understand there are a handful of HWT's currently, but they aren't documented on the 501st legion site currently.

The HWTs I think are documented as a TD prefix, even though the FISD has them. I don't think the term "Heavy Weapons Trooper" has been added yet to the costume list, or that it's being used properly. i.e. So many costumes are listed as just "Spec Ops" instead of Blackhole trooper.

If you need help building a backpack let me know. They cost about $25+ depending on how accurate you want them.

Izzi, you are right, here is a legion member as a HWT with a TD prefix: http://www.501stlegion.org/members/displaymember.php?userID=11343&costumeID=122

Very cool. I'm currently working on a Rebel Vanguard from Battlefront. Just need to get the right color of shirt, spats, gloves and a rocket launcher and I've got it!

Then with Lyss and her "Big Gun" Alpine will have plenty of firepower.

Take my advice: Build your pack as accurately as you can afford to. I started out just scraping by, and haven't been satisified... to the point that I just built my 4th pack this week.

Amazon.com has the same set of "seed trays" that many MEPD troopers use for the main boxes of the pack in a set of 4 (enough to do 1 pack) for $16.00. They're a nice, sturdy styrene.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002LV ... ss_product

I have a mold of the "radar dish" (AKA tupperware lid) if you need one.

I'm actually taking the lazy man's route and paying someone to make me one. Someone was selling these on the legion boards and I contacted him and he's going to build one for me. It is based on the ANH Special Edition sandtrooper pack:

This is a picture of the Gentle Giant bust as reference:

I like this one because it is smaller and not as wide as the standard TD pack. I'm not crazy about having to wear a pack in the first place, so I'm getting one that is smaller and weigh's less.

This is one that he's made in the past and it should look like this when he's done building it:

Pics aren't showing for me. They're linked to the 501st forums, which you have to be logged in to in order to view the pics.

*EDIT*
OK I logged into the 501st forums so I can see the pics. Hmmmm.... it really doesn't look that much narrower than mine. And weight all depends on the materials it's built from. Mine weighs in at about 8 pounds. But it's all about what you want.

Just for giggles (since I finished it tonight) here's my new pack. I still want to change out a couple parts, but it's *this close* to fully screen accurate.

Hey your's turned out very nice!
Another reason I chose this version is because it is compact in that it doesn't have a lot of protruding elements that can get snagged on walls, doorways etc.

Oh hey, one tip after looking at the pics again: Get some nice, wide, padded (if possible) straps for it. Those narrow 1" things will KILL your shoulders!

Good advice, I'll ask the builder if he can include something like that for it.
