Trust me, I know that story is very important for film. All the effects and gore just add the icing to the cake. But I'm a big fan of the Alien and Predator series and it needs to keep both horror and action aspects. I hope it has good story structure to it, otherwise it'll just end up being a slasher film with two alien species in it.

So lets hope the story will be a good one and not only gore through the whole thing.

from careful analysis of the trailer it appears that its going to be a great storyline

you still can haver horror sci fi stuff with out the gore
i mean im a big alien fan but i don't need guts covering the walls or blood shooting out of some ones severed legs. its not really a bonus but more like a detriment, cause in order to make the movie good you really have to balance it out with tons of good story and other non gore scenes. it seems like film makers just use it to satisfy their inner dark side or as a time burner. the really good films are like the first alien when they build and build and build on the plot and you don't really see any gore or even the monster till later

What I meant by leaving too much out in the first one was that there are so many things the Predators could have done but didn't. As for the aliens, it should have taken at least a couple hours for them to emerge but it seemed to be about 10 minutes in movie-time. Two preds got killed by the same alien, kind of downplaying them. I loved the Celtic one, Chopper wasn't that bad either, but they just didn't seem like the great warriors they were supposed to be portrayed as. (Celtic sits there and stares as the Alien lines up the shot rather than knocking it off or something else).

And it only describes what that single clan of Predators did. You can tell they're different than the others, P1 and P2 probably had different clans.

Hopefully this one describes more than one clan, and it may throw in the "Bad Blood" aspect, as it is show killing some unarmed humans. Also, this explains how Preds carry eggs in their ship (more like in the comics) rather than have a supply on standby like the first film. From what I'm guessing, this is a crash-landing in the middle of Colorado. The Pred could be a rogue, didn't see any other preds in the trailer other than the one.

Well, I've probably gone on long enough. Hope I explained myself enough.

i thnk this movie is a direct sequal and proboble plays off of the pred alien at the end of the first AvP and it probly killed of the rest of the predators. the one in the trailer must be the last one and thats why he has cool new weapons. he probobly is an elder and is stockpiling weapons for the up coming fight.

I hope they have an equal balance between Terror and Suspense though. I mean Gore is something that will freak the audience out, but a movie is more respectable when you can freak them out without tearing someones stomach out.

After all the traditional Alien and Predator movies had just the right amount of gore and plenty of suspense. I sure hope this movie doesn't screw up

I agree. think about it. An alien with acid blood and a hunters who are known in their movies for skinning people and hanging them up for all to see. AVP was ok....but I say they need to take it to an R rating to make it more like the movies they were loved for. I'm hoping for more face huggers and skinned bodies. The only problem I have with action movies is when ou can run over a person with a tank but no blood, but when you use your magical power to a level you're not use to you get a bloody nose. Be realistic people!
