I have been a long-time fan of the animated series, and have been watching the latest news at http://www.lastairbenderfans.com. This is looking to be quite true to the series, and just plain awesome to boot! I'm totally seeing it opening night.

I saw this a few weeks ago. Shaymalan totally butchered it. Don't waste your time or money.

Devils advocate here, I saw it and thought it was very good, but then I have never seen it as a cartoon. My son who watches it religiously says they mucked it up,

My niece told me that if you're a fan of the cartoon series you'll hate the movie. If you've never seen the series the movie will probably be somewhat enjoyable. I may take my son since neither of us are familiar with the series.

I've seen a fair amount of the cartoon series, and I went and saw the midnight opening of this. I enjoyed it. Although there was a bit to be desired but.. *shrug* I wouldn't say 'don't see it'

I'm a big fan of the animated series (and they're doing another season!!), and I thought the film was ok. It definitely is much slower, and grandiose than the animated series, which is a different feeling than the faster-paced children's cartoon. I'm interested if anyone who hasn't seen the cartoon thinks the action is a bit slow to get started.
