Hello fellow military folks! I just wanted to post up and see if the garrisons active military were using the benefits provided by the servicemembers civil relief act, or SCRA. I just recently found out about it and thought I would pass along the info. Basically it will retroactively reduce all your interest rates down to about a 6% rate, and pay you back the amount you overpaid. There are additional benefits that you should look up as well. This is again for active military or those who have separated within up to the past 6 months.

Hey y'all, I'm Michael. I'm former active duty Air Force, as an F-16 Crew Chief. I'm also a former Army National Guard as an Apache Longbow Crew Chief. Deployed all over the world a few times, latest party was in Afghanistan from 2006-2008. Now I'm medically retired and joining you fine people :)

As do I. I don't envy you one bit with those temps ugh. I spent way too many years in virtually every country in the sandbox. I kept asking Command why we couldn't be trying to win the hearts and minds of people in Iceland, or somewhere else besides the damn desert lol...they didn't appreciate the humor.

So I actually served in the military for a Brief time, I almost made it out of basic, but had issues killing people, and there is no way in Hell I am going to make my battle buddies risk their asses to get me out of a situation just because I can't do my job. I might go back and try again, still debating about it, Most likely will.

You can always go get a support MOS working in PAC, one of the S shops, medical, legal or something else. Only 1 in 7? jobs are combat or combat support. Nothing wrong with being a pogue.

Yeah, that's why I am considering going back, probably as a Medic. Because if I'm not going to take a life, might as well save it.
