I don't know how many of you have seen this or not (and I'm sure that even Handyman will find it impressive), but the best Star Wars fan film that I've ever seen is Imperial Military Personnel Stories : The Relentless (aka I.M.P.S., formerly known as TROOPS II).

You can download the trailer from here, and Chapter 1 is available here.

Both videos will take a while to download, but they are most definitely worth the wait. The costumes are top notch, and the CG is all beautifully rendered.

Chapter 2 is still in production, and will hopefully become available soon. I can see a lot of potential in this as an ongiong series of fanfilms.

Handyman, I understand you've been putting a lot of work into your film, but this film's gonna be hard to beat, visually. Maybe this will give you enough incentive to get yours done. :P J/K

Note : You may need either DivX or ffdshow installed on your computer to play these. There are links on both those pages to where you can download DivX from. ffdshow can be downloaded from here, it's free, has no nags, and no DivX logos on playback or encoding.

Great film, very humorous. I love the look of the TK in the trailer.

I will admit the original TROOPS was dang good for it's time, but it was only spoofing on COPS, I.M.P.S. is a meant to be a much grander project, and they've only got the trailer and the first chapter done so far.

If you look at the I.M.P.S. website, you'll see they planned a minimum of 8 chapters, so this is a longer-running series. The photography, CG, and voice-over acting is all much more professional, the musical score fits perfectly, and there's plenty of humor in the script.

Personally, I can't wait to see how all the other chapters are going to turn out.

I love TROOPS, however I did lose a lot of respect for it when I found out that it was NOT made by amateurs like us, but by pros. The editor, producers, visual effects team, writers, and more were pros and had already worked on other major projects including "Babylon 5", "Power Rangers", NUMEROUS animated series including "The Simpsons", and more.

<a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0153301/">Here</a> is the IMDB entry for TROOPS.

In my opinion, even though it really started the entire fanfilm Genre, it's a bit different because of this.

It is very funny, and very creative though!

I can't remember the name, but there's an old jedi who train two young jedi in a forest and Vader finds them. He kills the old jedi, is attacked by the young jedi and kills him. He fights the other young jedi who is a female, he grips her by the neck and lets her fall off a cliff and she survives. I like the story. It's a fresh tale.

Knightquest. It's one of my personal favorites also.

I also really like the Star Dudes series (Star Dudes, The Bad Dudes Strike Back, Return of the Dude, The Phantom Dude) and the crossovers Brains and Steel and Sith Apprentice.

Knightquest ROCKS!

I really like <a href="http://www.theforce.net/fanfilms/shortfilms/essenceoftheforce/index.asp">Essence of the Force</a>, it's well-produced and has a GREAT ending.

But, I think my personal favorite (right now at least) has got to be <a href="http://www.theforce.net/fanfilms/shortfilms/r2extra/index.asp">R2: The Extra Special Astro-Mech</a>. Although some of the acting is a bit weak, the young boy does a great job I think... watch his facial expressions near the end of the film... (trying to not give away spoilers). And R2 is SPECTACULAR in it!

Personally, The Curse of the Jedi is #1 in my book...but the sequel, The Way of the Force, might top it.

I just came across this today. To give a bit of background, I have been playing StarWars Galaxies for about a year and a half. It is a fun MMORPG, but has undergone some major changes of late. I was totally blown away by this:

Oh those imaginative people!! It's a bit long, but a good story if you are familiar with the sith code.

I remembered a couple of funny fan films that I liked, Empire of One (2002) and Empire of One (2003).

So how many of our resident TKs have had a DI like the guy in the 2003 one? :P

Well the Army calls them Drill Sergents, to me a DI is where you go to buy used clothing.

He certainly sounded like one, but any Officer behaving that way would be more likely to die from a Imperial blaster than a Rebel one.

That video was very funny. Can I be in the same unit as that last stormtrooper? :D

Since it's Christmas I'll provide a link to this short cartoon. Star Wars: A Christmas Carol It's really stupid and the animation sucks but it may make you chuckle a little (or perhaps up-chuck a little)
