I figured I'd finally start this since I made progress from just research. Tonight I ordered my SA gloves. I'll see how long the rest of the build takes to progress...

Currently I'm looking at getting SC armor with a KS bucket. I'm going to make the boots myself just as soon as I look for the boots I like and get some marine vinyl. The other soft parts are still in the research phase. And the holdout blaster will probably be from some resin kit from the BSN, I figure $50 is good enough for now. I think I may want to do the DLT-19 if anyone has any suggestions for that too.

So, any suggestions from the peanut gallery?

:scout: (Just because I wanted to add that smiley)

Gloves: Complete (SithArmor)
Balaclava: Complete (UA Tactical)
Jumpsuit: Complete-ish (Pockets off, thinking of adding mandrin collar and the straps, butt flap, and suede patches in the inner thigh)
Armor: In Progress (Thinking SC)
Helmet: In Progress (Thinking KS)
Cummerbund: In Progress (Homemade?)
Boots: In Progress (Need to buy supplies)
Holdout Blaster: In Progress (Undecided)

Ooh, DLT-19. I've been wanting to make one for myself. I have templates and sintra. Maybe we'll have to work on them together.

I've been checking the 501st boards a bit for scout armor for sale. Do you have your own sources lined up, or do you want me to keep checking?

I'm thinking of buying the kit, rather than buying a set that someone has already assembled.

I don't blame you. The other day I did see a kit that had sold for $200 before I had even logged in. I'll keep watching.

Yeah, that was a steal. I saw the post right after it was submitted, and within a matter of hours, it was gone.

Just remember it takes 100 of you for every one of me... and at least 95 of you for each of my troopers.

for a DLT-19 you could go with a Cushmann. They're vacuformed so there's a certain loss of detail, but there's the added advantage that because they're vacuformed, they're pretty durable and ultra-lightweight for trooping.

They actually look pretty good when built up. Here's a pic of me with mine:

I was looking at those earlier and wasn't sure how good it was. I'll have to look closer into it when I get to that phase. Anyone know how to add electronics to something like that? I was thinking of getting one of the blasters and cannibalizing it.

You can find the page for Cushman's Star Wars replica kits here: http://www.cushmanpaintball.com/Starwar ... apage.html

I believe the kit comes with halves of a shell that you have to glue together. You can put anything in there before you assemble it -- I know people have put airsoft internals in there so they'll shoot plastic bbs.

I have a bunch of high-powered LEDs in various colors, so we could make a muzzleflash for it if you're interested.
