Hello Ladies and Gentlemen!

It is I, Alyssa, and I come bearing you fruit. Here I will list what I'm planning on doing (costume-wise), basically for the next two years. I won't leave too much detail on the RL ones, since this is the 501st, unless you guys want me to. :trooper:

A year ago, when my husband Scott (RVNRaven) and I started on the boards, I really wanted to make a TK (stormtrooper for the newbies). A few months later, I decided that it'd be better to work on an officer until my body conformed to the right level of fitness to make a TK. That didn't work out so well, mostly due to a previously unknown allergy to gluten that made me store fat. (Apparently some people with celiac's are skeletal, and some are balloons.) I'm still working on the officer, and when I make the TK, I decided to just go all out and model my female TK after Jes Gistang of the Joker Squad. Wookieepedia her, she has a big gun. :D
http://media.photobucket.com/image/Jes% ... gloose.jpg

I'm going to see if I can avoid chopping my hair off though, because I know it would not be a flattering look for me, ever.

I kinda disappeared for about 8 months as a "serious" costumer. Just sorta read what you guys were up to, because life has been crazy. We bought a new house, had SERIOUS mold issues, and recently I've had a severe back injury/allergy problems. It's getting all better though, and I'll be back to normal, officially on August 1st. I've lost 30 lbs, and I'm going to be dropping a lot more.

With the announcement of CVI (and excitement over Freedom Fest), Scott and I got bitten by the costuming bug again. Since I quit gluten and soda, my health has been improving. So I'm really motivated to work on 4 costumes (one for each day), for CVI. Scott will be doing the same, once he decides on his other 2 costumes. Lol.

I have chosen:
Mara Jade (501st)

Aayla Secura (RL)

Secret Costume...

And.... Generic Jedi? I'm not sure. Probably so I can be in something more comfortable and not so form fitting while I'm at the convention. I know it can get hot with all the layers, but meh. If you guys have any really cool (cheapish, but awesome) suggestions for me, I'm open to them.

After CVI I'll work on the Jes Gistang, and another sithly costume that I'm also keeping hush hush for now. (I like the thrill of surprise I guess?) Eventually, perhaps a Juno Eclipse. I just don't like the idea of a wig so much. Anywho, thoughts? Questions?

As I progress with my 501st costume(s), I will update you on my progress. I've signed up on the flagship eclipse and RL boards. I'm "stalking" Twi'lek Pam's websites. :-)

And Jes is definitely the one in Joker Squadron with the big gun.

Star Wars Legacy Comics, these are taking places several generations after the OT. I think issue #4 is where most of this took place. The illustrator could have been taking liberties with things too.

I think the action figures in the Entertainment earth set had knees more like the normal TK's did.

Action figure companies are notorious for using as many existing molds as possible instead of sticking to the original source. Can some one point me to the direction of the issue numbers they appear in? Between that gun and the knee set up, this could be a start or a new costume class.

The Armour has a definite clone look the boots are white soled the knee is clone and so are other parts but the leg band on the one sitting is definitely TK.

I checked on the action figure and it is basically TK with a clone belt and a squared off breastplate. No exaggeration of the pectorals. Izzi check out the helmet snout it looks like an inverted Y instead of the regular TK snout.

The main part of the Joker Squad story was Legacy #4. I need to go to the library today and could see which trade paperback has them in it, it is an interesting story.

LOL. You guys are over my head. You guys just talk shop and lemme know how I can still be chesty and comfortable in that area/look like a "modest" female TK. I just want to pass it as a TK with a very slightly augmented chest. This is just my proof that there are female TKs.

P.S. I got my TK boots. YAY!

I found the copy and got it on digital format, so I have the pictures to have as templates. It's hard to tell if there is much augmentation on the chest of Jes, though there is quite a few differences with the armor of all of them from TKs. Like has been pointed out they do have white soles, and the list does go on. Maybe we can just use the argument that they modified the armor for Talz(species) and so they would have for chesty females? And I do have more shots of the BIG gun so maybe we can get that approved if nothing else.

So what I would suggest is to keep it standard TK and just augment the chest as little as would be comfortable for you Lyss. Let's hope that would work....

P.S. izzi I found that miniature of the Storm Commando so we'll have to start planning that one :D

Well, we can start by getting you approved as a normal TK, then start making some changes if you would like to see if you can get approved as the actual Jes character. (Big gun and all!)
