Gotta love the armor under the robe! I wasn't going to show that pic until I actually had some armor to modify... Should be here in a week

TX Armor update:

So I glued the snaps on with some ABS I got from Dusty. and made the straps. I didn't think the glue was quite dry before the event today so I covered it with gorilla tape. I may do this to all the snaps anyway, as it covers up the corners of the ABS strips so they don't have a chance to snag my undersuit.
Image

Cool thing is from the front the belt covers the ab/cod separation so it still looks like one piece (At least I think it does). I could tell the difference while trooping today. I was actually able to move easier with this mod, so it'll definitely be included in any future armor I do.
Image

And now just another teaser. These came in yesterday:
Image

Only 1 chest piece and 2 of the shoulder bells are mine to be modded for the Shadow Guard. The other two are for my friend who is also building one.
The thermal detonator pieces are for eBayBlackHoleTrooper. He's so close to being done!
The hand plates, I didn't order... but they were in the box, so I'll find something to do with them!
And yes... That is a new TX helmet. I want to make one a bit smaller and freakin' sweet looking! (Keyword being "want" not "am going")

Can't wait for the weather to calm down so I can actually make some attempts!

Never! I'm one of the most serious of all the Emperor's soldiers. We, the Imperial Elite, have no sense for humor, and totally lack any form of excitement. That gene was destroyed through multiple servings of Malt-O-Meal and constant be-ratings by intelligent, speaking, 5 year-old, experimental ferrets. They don't nickname us the Chocolaty Wombats of Infinite Doom for nothing! Giddy is just not in our programming!

Okay, so I got to trim a bit the last couple days and though it may not look like much, every step just gets me excited to see it completed. The way I feel can best be discribed by the words of GIR: "I'm Running! Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii'm Running! WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO! Iiiii'm naked!" ...Wait... That doesn't seem right. Oh, well. On to the update!

I trimmed the shoulder bells into the rough shape shape of the SG's shoulder bells. i know the SG doesn't have a ridge in the center of their bells like the TK but that will be handled later. I have plans to fix that... at least I think I do! And thinking is half the battle! G.I... That doesn't seem right either.

Image

I also trimmed out the face of the TX bucket I have. This one looks to be a stunt-style helmet, so I think I'll make it my tricked out bucket that is lovingly hand painted in gloss black, with flat black accents. Then I think I'm going to chrome everything that I think I can get away with, and still be 501st approved! MUA HA HA HA HA HA!

Okay... So this is where I'm glad I chose a TX. Apparently, I can become an entirely different trooper by swapping out a few parts. So I dug out my box bunch of spare parts, and with a couple other additions, may turn this:

Into This:

Can't wait til it's warm enough to paint!

Dang it... That's 3 projects now...

The pouches look very cool, but wouldn't the gold stripes make it so people could see you?

It's an Elite Novatrooper Commander... I think you're supposed to see him coming... Gives you time to scream. ;)

Not much done today. figuring out how to make the gold stripes not look wonky on armor is harder than I thought. but I did get some trimming done on my SG chest.

Need weather to clear up... almost to primer and paint time...

Use your imagination for this. You have to turn the black to gold and the blue to black. I used straight lines for the arms the first time but on the Asymmetrical armor I just couldn't get it to look right, so I'm going with lines that get slightly bigger as they go up. There really isn't a definitive marking width for these guys anyway. The SWG PC game has them even, but they have total symmetrical armor. The drawn pictures for them seem to have the whole top or most of the top of the gold striped armor covered, so I'm using that as my excuse. :D

If this post was a transformer, it would be named: Armoris Primed!
Image
Ah I'm tired... Primed stripes for the Nova and the chest plate for the Shadow. Letting it sit over night to dry. Guess I have to go buy gold paint. and I hope the weather is nice tomorrow again.

Got some of my stuff done tonight too!

Color Test for the stripes of the Nova:
Image

Some purchased CAP-W helmets and gifts from a fellow detachment member to help with the Nova creation:
Image

Shadow Guard chest armor all painted and glossy!
Image

My ATA bucket build for one of the Shadow Stormtrooper costume upgrades:
Image

I still have Armoris Primed in my garage and added the trimmed shoulder bells, knee plate and and a bucket to them.
Image

I hope it doesn't start to rain or snow through the weekend, so I may be able to finish the painting. Just need it to stay dry for a little longer.
