So after taking to some of you at Fanx I decided to build a simple outfit for my first go and get into the active trooping until my arc trooper is finished now I just need to start finding all the gear :)

Hey Michael,

Welcome. I am taking a similar path by building a simple costume (staff officer) until I can complete my Stormtrooper armor. If you haven't already I would go through the CRL for the bridge crew then track down the items you need on the IOC boards. You may have to "search" the IOC boards for items. As their "Costume Resource" page is a mess.

You can get the hat and belt from Wampa wear. They are about the same price as everyone else. The "Jack Boots" you can most likely find local. I'm not sure about the jump suit, and I wouldn't worry about the "optional items" for basic approval. Since they are not required.

It seems that many of the places are out of jack boots and hats it looks like most hats and belts are at least 50$ any ideas?

For the hat, you could try the online Disney store. It runs smaller and in one size but only costs about $30. There are also templates, so you could also sew your own.

As for jackboots, I couldn't find any in my size (13) so I went with engineer boots or motorcycle boots. These are what I bought http://www.bootbarn.com/Ad-Tec-Men%27s-Heavy-Duty-13%22-Motorcycle-Boots/1015249,default,pd.html?dwvar_1015249_color=Black

I'd like to see a picture of these, if you got one. I need better boots.

On topic-

Pretty much your paying 50 for hats, or making your own...at least by what I've seen.

If you can work with leather you can make the belt out of a blank and source a buckle for cheaper.

Here you go. There is a strap on the ankle I had to remove but it was very easy to do with a sharp knife in 5 minutes or so.
