Now that the pack is done, I'm looking for something to store/transport the pack in. Something to protect it after all the hard work I put into it. If anyone has any ideas, let me know.

I found some sand colored/textured spray paint and decided to weather my pack a bit more. I think it turned out great.

How about just putting it in another backpack?

For those who may want one (especially my fellow Sandys), I hope to start on my BFG this weekend. Since most of the others have or are planning on getting DLT-19s, I'm going to be scratch-making a T-21. More to come.

So I've had a lot of family in town and that's slowed down my BFG a bit. I also got stuck deciding between a T-21 and an RT-97C, but I think I'm going to stick with the T-21. It looks great and I think it will look a bit more proportionate to me due to my height.

I'm not going to post a long, detailed how-to. It will be more progress pictures as I go. If you want to do a T-21, you can follow Pandatrooper's build and template here - http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=6618. It's very detailed and you can't go wrong. I'll be using his guide and template to make mine.

Here's the start, will be cutting these out this week.

There's a TK with a T21 in the R1 trailer. I wonder if that will make the CRL for TK? I'm thinking about slowly adding HWT parts so I'm gonna hit you up for tips on the pack.

Thanks to some help from TJ, I was able to get all of the templates cut out of the wood. The stock is being glued together along with the feed plate. Hopefully more to come this weekend.

Kirk did very well using the scroll saw for the first time. No fingers were lost.

Made some small progress this weekend. I got some of the feed plate details cut out of a plastic "For Sale" sign and started gluing them onto the wood.

The biggest issue I faced was the smaller end of the barrel. Using pandatrooper's guide, he used 3" PVC, cut an inch out of the diameter, and then glued it back together. I tried it and it seemed like it was going to be very hard to glue back together. The pipe is really stiff even with all my weight pushing it together. I decided to look at other options and found something that I think will work. I decided to take a few 2" PVC couplers and glue them together. The overall diameter of the piece may be a tiny bit small compared to pandatrooper's method, but I think in the long run it will be negligible. It was also a lot easier on me to put this piece together.

More to come soon.

Thankfully I went down to Jim's today for the armor party and I got to hog his sander. I got a lot of work done on the stock. It still needs a ton more but I made huge progress. More to come soon.
