Alright, I want to start something different and see if anyone else wants to join along. Your challenge is to find strange--but true facts. It can be about almost anything, but they have to be true.

I'll keep an updated list on this first post.

Any people up for the challenge?

~In an average lifetime, a human will drink upwards of 2 million gallons of water

~Skepticisms is the longest word that alternates hands when typing!

~"Stewardesses" is the longest word that can be typed with only one hand on the keyboard.

~"Bookkeeper" is the only word with three contiguous sets of double letters.

~The word "Typewriter" is spelled with letters found only along the top row of letter keys.

~A giraffe can clean its ears with its 21-inch tongue!

~If you were to put a drop of alcohol on a scorpion it would instantly go mad and sting itself to death.

~Should there be a crash, Prince Charles and Prince William never travel on the same airplane as a precaution!

~Every year, kids in North America spend close to half a billion dollars on chewing gum!

~If you put Mentos in Diet Coke there will be a great reaction!

~If you place a raisin in a glass of champaign it will bob up and down top to bottom repeatedly.

~The book Les Misérables by Victor Hugo has the longest sentence in literature at 823 words long.

~Humans blink over 10,000,000 times a year.

~A sneeze travels out your mouth at over 100 m.p.h.

~The most poisonest spider is the Daddy Long Legs; however, their mouths are so small that they can't bite you.
(Proven wrong.)

~One only has to apply eight pounds of pressure to rip off a person's ear.

~The most popular first name in the world is Muhammad

~Over 2500 left handed people a year are killed from using products made for right handed people

~Harry Heimlich performed the maneuver named after him only once.

~A pound of muscle can burn 35-50 calories a day.

~Over 78 million Mickey Mouse Ears hats have been sold.

~In Tokyo, a bicycle is faster than a car for most trips of less than 50 minutes!

~The King of Hearts is the only king without a moustache on a standard playing card.

~There are no clocks in Las Vegas gambling casinos.

~In New Mexico, over eleven thousand people have visited a tortilla chip that appeared to have the face of Jesus Christ burned into it

~An office desk has 400 times more bacteria than a toilet.

~The first toilet being flushed in a motion picture was in the movie "Psycho."

~In the original radio show "War of the Worlds" the sound of the tanks firing at the aliens was actually the enhanced sound of a toilet flushing.

~There are 293 ways to make change for a dollar.

~Walt Disney was afraid of mice.

~Choking on food is the seventh leading cause of death in the United States.

Along the typing vein:

"Stewardesses" is the longest word that can be typed with only one hand on the keyboard.

I've got two:

"Bookkeeper" is the only word with three contiguous sets of double letters.

The word "Typewriter" is spelled with letters found only along the top row of letter keys.
