A few things I forgot to mention earlier this morning...

* As HTML markups are no longer allowed in posts, PMs, and signatures, some of you will need to edit your sigs and take out any HTML you may have in there. Change it over to the equivalent BBCode.

* The old direct URL to the boards using boards has been deprecated. In order to maintain backward compatibility with the old links that are still out there in posts, PMs, E-mails, and search engines, I have created some mod Rewrite rules that will translate the old URLs and redirect your browser to the new URL. For those of you posting links or entering direct URLs, please discontinue using any with "/boards" in them.

After seven years of blue, I'd expect everyone would be pretty used to it. I actually went with the blue theme a few weeks after the website was launched in December 2002. That was before we voted on a Garrison logo in April 2003 and decided on Mark Fordham's design. I guess I should have changed the color scheme back then, but I did enjoy the blue while it lasted. ;)

Sorry about that, Adam. The conversion just took a *LOOOOOONNNNNGGGG* time. We've got a very big database because I've never wanted to prune anything out for historical purposes.

I'm using Google Chrome and haven't had any issues yet. So far, I think this likes Chrome better than the old site.

That's good to hear, Margaret. As for the old site, there were a TON of compatibility issues outside of Firefox/IE.

I just found two small bugs:

1) On the Event Stats page, there is one event listed for 2010. Unless someone has come up with time travel, I'm doubting it should be there. ;)
2) Clicking on any of the individual event years in the Year-by-Year Event Summary brings up the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: make_member_menu() in /home/alpine/live/phpBB3/summit_year_event_detail.php on line 25

Just fixed that.

The reason why that is happening is because of the new way events are added to the calendar in order to activate the commit feature. We now add the events in the roll taking system in the future rather than scheduling them in the first post of a thread. There will be more details on that soon.

With that in mind, the FUTURE events shouldn't be appearing on the stats page. I'll have to get that fixed later today. I'm actually on my laptop right now accessing the Internet with an air card while my wife is driving us up to Logan. This bug is a bit more involved and all the bumps in the car aren't conducive to coding. ;)

Thanks for spotting those, Mark. :D

Hey Mike, I miss the little "501st" button next to the "Profile" button when someone posts, will that be making a comeback?

I felt the same, Mike's on top of it, and it is in the works. :)

WOW! I just popped onto the sight having forgotten it was going up last night, and...BAM!!! There it was! This is great, but for sure will take some getting used to. You have done a spectaular job - this is going to be like Christmas opening each new window :D Thank you, Mike!!!

Just found another small bug. After clicking on Boards, if I look in the Board Statistics section, it lists "Quiz Master Yoda" as the newest user. This conflicts with the data on the front page, which correctly shows the most recent users.

Again, I'm impressed by the smoothness of the site roll. All I've found are minor nitpicks. :)

Here's another tip...

* If you notice that some images on the new site are missing, particularly the garrison member images, clear your browser cache.

That's correct. I'm on the road right now, but when I get home this evening, I'll get it added to the new site.

Yes, it will. If any of you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

I spotted that earlier as well. There must be an incorrect query in the PHP or bad data in the database. I'll fix that too.

Thanks Handyman, this will be as much fun to explore, as it was when you launched the first site so long ago!

That is a possibility for down the road. The quiz game was a lot of fun.

Not only did it list the PCMC event for 2010, but all our BAB and Salvation Army events for Nov/Dec 2009. The stats page has been fixed so that it only compiles data on PAST events. It wasn't a problem before with the old site because we only had past events in the roll taking system.

Driving back home through Sardine Canyon right now. Gotta love these air cards! 8)

Thanks for all of the fixes, Handy. And please drive safely! Sardine Canyon is much nicer since they widened the road a few years back, but it can still be an unpleasant drive in inclement weather. :?
