Greetings Guys,

As we approach the end of the year, it seems like everyone is talking about what the top events of 2003 were. I thought it would be fun to talk about the big moments for the Alpine Garrison during 2003. I'm sure most of you would agree that the Ogden Light Parade was our shining moment of the year.

What else impressed you? What were your favorite Garrison moments of 2003?

Later,

I know that the participation of the Alpine Garrison impressed Dave Scott (of Slanted Fedora) and other attendees at the Science Fiction Celebration in late July. Dave called the attitude of the local fans infectious.

Who could forget meeting Peter Mayhew?!

That was definitely another highlight of 2003.

Thanks for reminding us, Carl. ;)

Peter, Peter, Peter!
His little "nod" to us when he was up there talking was the coolest thing ever!

The Preston ID Rodeo Days parade was quite the memorable experience for me as well. It was kinda fun to make it a little family get away. Plus I think that trip was the turning point for Lady Helmet that finally pushed her to the Dark Side! I know she really enjoyed chatting with Julie!

Well, my biggest and only highlight was the parade, being new to the group. Everything about it was just plain awesome!! Thank you all for your friendship. :)

The Peter Mayhew event was the best by far for me. Granted that I only went to one other event. But it was one of the coolest things that has ever happened to me. Ill never forget Peter talking about the 501st and how great we all do.

I also really enjoyed Glenn's son's birthday party immensely!!!

WHY?

Because I got to be Darth Vader!!!!!! :vader:

I gained a new appreciation for what Tysen and Mark go through all the time. That helmet and shoulder armor is kind of ruff on the back! But it was so choice to be in them!! 8) :guitar:

Do we only get to pick just one event? Gosh, I liked so many of em. The Toy Shows are always fun. I really liked the Peter Mayhew event esspecially on the second day in Idaho when I got to sit with Peter and chat him up while he signed pics for a few hours. (He is the coolest.) But I also liked all of the parades we have done too. I cant imagine an event being a bore rather than a treat. (we dont have any old folks homes lined up do we?)

All of the events are wonderfull!! The best ones are those that alot of members come to. The worst are the ones that no one shows up for!

The best this year was the "Peter- Chewie" event!
But by far the best ever has been the Celebration 2, you had all better plan on going to the Celebration 3!!

Count me in for Celebration III. My son and I will be Boba and Jango, and my wife may make a Jocasta Nu costume as well.

As much as I would really like to go to CIII, I'm not sure we'll make it.

The Ogden parade was tops for me, but a close second was the Bingham Creek Library and third Peach Days (despite the wound).

I really love shaking hands with kids and seeing the wonder in their eyes. I wish there had been something like this for me to attend when I was a kid that age.

Well, I guess I really didn't need the encouragement to become a life long fan. :jango:
