OK, I got thinking about this. I joined the forums here so I could see what you guys are up to and hopefully participate/help in any way I can, like the parade this weekend. But I don't have a 501st-qualifying costume yet, so I'm not officially a member, right? So what the heck am I? "lurker"? "Southeast Idaho Liason"? "Dork with a Jedi Costume"?

Greetings Doug,

All of the above? ;) JK

We're just glad you're here and participating on the boards! Of course, we're also happy to assist you in creating costumes. You interested in any Imperial costumes? Bounty Hunters? Other?

Once you have a qualifying costume, Jared(aka "Darth Maul" on the boards) our most excellent Garrison Web Liaison, can help you become an official member of the 501st!

Later,

Mike Handy

To true, to true! :D

And thank you Mike for that nice plug :!: :!: (slips Mike a $50)

Really though, Doug, we welcome just about anyone to "hang" with us! As one of the troopers so delicately puts it, "We need a few Jedi/Rebels about, so we can have some thing to shoot at!"

You are right that you can't join the 501st without an Imperial costume, but there is really nothing that says you can't join us!!

Doug,

Come to the Garrison events there are plenty of things that you can do to help. I think that everyone would be impresseed with some of the props that you have made. Some of us (like me) would be willing to trade prop help for costume help. Who wouldn't want one of your real nice yoda sabers? I look forward to a long "star wars" friendship with you and the rest of the Idaho Falls gang!

So Doug. You make props eh!?

Excellent.

I pose this question to the group then. Is there anyone who can or has made blaster holsters, for trade or very minimal cost?
I need one desperately!

Thanks

Thanks all for making me feel so welcome! To answer a few of the questions, yes, I am interested in imperial costuming, I'd like to do an officer to start, and then MAYBE Fett armor. But I'm trying to tweak out my jedi stuff first. I made a new tunic etc last week, and now I'm on a hunt for decent boots. My brother wants to do an officer as well, and we've already purchased the pattern to start from.

Yes, I do make (some) props. I plan to bring my entire collection with me to the parade/picnic on Saturday so all can see. Although my budget is tight, replica SW props are kind of my "niche" in the collecting world. I also have some pretty good connections for some things. Check out this saber I just sold on ebay...all hand-made:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 37887&rd=1

What kind of holster? trooper (E-11) holster? I've never done one but would be willing to try. BTW I've done 3 PVC E-11 blasters, I'll bring one Saturday... Not 100% accurate, but a heck of a lot better than a kenner/hasbro repaint :)

Thanks again all!

I have a limited travel budget, but I'll make it to any events I can!

Doug

Hello Doug,

Soyez le Bienvenue....that means welcome too  Anyway Wow that saber is awesome. Do you have any pics of your E-11 blasters? I'm interested in getting one to go with some trooper armor I'm getting. You can email me directly at tysen.webb@citcomm.com if you wish.

Jared I may have another holster I can sell you. Lets talk.

You know what's incredable. Just 3 years ago we only had 5 people in this garrison. Now look at us!!

I put up a photo album of my E-11's so that everyone can see.

It's here:

If anybody wants one, or wants help building your own, let me know!

Enjoy!

Nope, never tried a Jango blaster...I'm not sure I could do that, but it might be fun to try...I may know someone who does resin-casts though, I'll check

Chris I do know a guy that makes the Jango blasters and they look as good as the movies... Well almost. He's the same guy that made my Force Pike! I'll find his info.

Also, I've seen the Rubies Jango blasters and they're not bad...they're bigger than the hasrbo ones, take standard AA batteries for the sound, etc. With a repaint they'd look really good. This place has them for $8.00/each
