I'm just finishing up a Vader build and should be ready to submit for approval soon. Now I'm looking into a Stormtrooper. I know there are probably a ton of options and I'm very good when it comes to DIY. What kind of costs am I looking at for a final product? Where do I start and who should I talk to first? Thanks!!!

For my AM 2.0 TK kit and the costume details/accessories, I spent about $1200 over about a year and a half. It is important to note that it was over a long time, and was not spent all at once.

A lot of this will depend on kit size and level of detail you want to accomplish with your build. If you want to do a basic level 1 certification on your kit, then you would just get the basics and be done, but if you want better details and higher level 2-3 certifications, then you may spend a little more. The weapon and comms are also a little more expensive, and have different options out there.

FISD is going to have answers to all of these questions, and will also be able to provide contact information for different armor crafters based on your size. I am not sure if anyone has a working Rogue one armor yet with all the new levels of detail, but that would be awesome.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me via reply, or a PM!!

Here is a link to the FISD / whitearmor.net "Getting started" page. This is a good place to start and will help to answer many of your questions. As well as a list of vetted armor makers. The cost depends a lot on what storm trooper costume you want. The most common are the ones from A New Hope, known as ANH TK. The price range, depending on what you get, is going to be between $1,000 to $1,600 dollars. That estimate is based on the kit, E-11 blaster, boots, under-suit and build materials.

Hope this helps and don't hesitate to ask questions.

Plenty of good advice above, I would just echo my brothers pointing you to FISD. The main thing to determine is what variant of Stormtrooper you want to go with. From there, as Chris said decide what level of accuracy you care for. Once you have those locked in, it will be much easier to give you solid recommendations.

I spent about a month just searching back through the Expert Infantry (Level 2) and Centurion (Level 3) forums just to see what the different armor kits looked like and what corrections/critiques were being given for the different builds. When I was ready to order parts and start building, I knew exactly what to look out for and my EIB/Centurion apps were a snap.

I had a response all ready to go and my computer died (I didn't pay attention to the low battery indication. :P )

^^^What they all said. The only thing I would add is that the armor you get will partially depend on your body type, but that will also be covered over at the FISD.

KAAR gave you the best starting spot, where and who to get your armor from you'll just need to email the different vendors to get a price. Another link you'll need which I found very helpful is this one:

Parts supply list
http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/3 ... -tk-build/

There are some things on that list that you probably wont need but its a great starting point when your trying to figure out what you need and to get everything.

Build threads (although it will be different armor the techniques are still the same)

ukwraths http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/3 ... ild/page-1
navajo bro http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/3 ... unt-build/
heres my build thread (I did convert to sandtrooper) http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/3 ... ld-thread/

This is where I got the idea for my helmet fans

belt

neck seal

One of our local members makes them, message JIMBOJAG and he can get you the info, KAAR also made his own too

Split rivets & latex hand gaurds (you'll need these if you plan on going for higher level of accuracy only but NOT for basic)

I have not dealt with them directly but a few others have so I'll let them chime in about durability what I do know about them is that if you ordered a kit right now you might get it summer of 2018 and the plastic is very thin and doesn't really snap but more tears when your trying to trim it
