If you haven't seen what I've been working on, I've developed a conversion kit for airsoft mauser broomhandle pistols to build a more-accurate replica of the Merr-Sonn Power 5 blaster. This blaster was carried by the "TK421, why aren't you at your post" officer in EpIV. The kits are resin-...

Izzi's right about the legal aspects of recasting, it's all shades of grey. My main reason for recommending that people stay away from recasters is quality. Usually , recast armor is of a lesser quality, made out of lighter material, and MUCH softer pulls. In other words, you may pay less, but you r...

The first 3 kits are out of the molds! Here's what a complete set of conversion parts looks like: http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c100/jedi5150/props/power%205/IMG00221-20100408-2220.jpg Some of the key points: -I'm tinting the resin dark gray so that if the paint gets scratched, i...

You can buy it if you want, its up to you who you support. The 501st takes a neutral stance toward recasting. It happens to often, the 501st can't police it. That's true. There's nothing that will prevent one from being approved for 501st status just based on the fact that your armor is recast. HOW...

Just a quick update: The master parts are in the RTV right now, should have molds in about an hour to start casting :)

Once I'm sure the molds are good and I've pulled a couple sets of parts, I'll start an order thread.

While digging through my parts bin looking for some parts for someone tonight, I realized I have quite a few "extra" parts that I might as well see if anybody can use. Here are some: X-Wing pilot chestbox. Vacuformed. It's a rough pull, will need some clean-up work, and possible filled wit...

Is this going to be another kit added on the airsoft gum or are you casting the whole gun to? Either way I'm in for one. It will be another add-on kit for the airsoft. Buying the airsofts is actually cheaper than casting the gun. I might be interested as well. Is the cord on top going to be part of...

Yeah, and that's where the real problem lies. There needs to be a list of requirements to obtain 501st official status, that we can point new/potential members at for a comprehensive list of what they need to do to become official for any given costume. I thought that's what the intent of the CRL wa...

I sure will. I need to round up a few more interested parties to justify purchasing the RTV and Resin to mold/cast the pieces... that stuff ain't cheap!

I think that's a problem, because where do we send potential/new recruits for a list of requirements? Yeesh, this CRL thing can be confusing for us, imagine how confusing it is for potential members!

Actually, according to THIS THREAD on the FISD boards, they have merged their "Stormtrooper Base" and "ANH Stunt" standards into one. And, according to the " ANH Stunt " requirements: NOTE: the FX helmet is no longer considered acceptable. I've posted a queston on the G...
